Leucoderma - symptoms, causes, treatment and Remedies

Leucoderma also called vitiligo is a painful skin situation. In word language means white skin. There is a continuously loss of the pigment melanin from the skin layers which outcomes in white patches. These patches seem to be ugly in a body, particularly in persons with a dark skin. The situation does not cause any organic harm. This disease is not cause by any germs, nor is it due to bad blood. It is measured to be neither infectious nor contagious.

 

Leucoderma symptoms

 

The problem normally begins with a small white spot which shortly seems into patches. These patches are pale in the starting, but turn into whiter and whiter as time duration passes by due to loss of pigment. As the spots make bigger, they combine into each other and, in course of time, form a very broad patch. In number of cases, most of the skin of the body may be enclosed with white patches.

 

Leucoderma causes

 

Mai causes of Leucoderma are chronic or acute gastric disorders, extreme mental worry, and impaired hepatic function such as jaundice, worms or other parasites in the alimentary canal, typhoid, a defective preparatory mechanism, and burn injuries.

 

Home Remedies for Leucoderma

 

Psoralea

 

Most excellent home remedy for Leucoderma is the use of seeds of psoralea. Seeds should be steeped in the juice of ginger for 3 days. The fluid should be changed every day. Seeds should be rubbed with the hands to take away the husks, dried in the shade and powdered. 1 gm of this powder should be taken every day with one cup of fresh milk for forty days continuously. The ground seeds also applied to the white spots region or areas. Babchi seeds mixed with tamarind seeds. Are also useful. An equal amount of both the seeds should be steeped in water for 3 to 4 days. Then be shelled and dried up in the shade. They should be ground into paste and apply to the white patches areas for a week. If the use of this paste causes itching, or the white spots seem red and a fluid starts to come out, this cure should be discontinued.

 

Red Clay

 

One another very useful home remedy for Leucoderma that is red clay found by the river side. The clay should be combining in ginger juice in a ratio of 1:1, and applied over the white spots areas or regions once a day. The copper contain in the clay seems to bring back skin pigmentation. Ginger juice also serves as a mild tonic, facilitating improved blood flow to the spots region. Intake water which is kept overnight in a copper vessel will also very helpful.

 

Radish

 

A mixture made from the seeds of the radish is very important in the cure of Leucoderma. About 35 grams of t seeds powdered in 2 teaspoons of vinegar and applied on the white patches.

 

Goose Foot

 

The use of goose foot is very helpful in the cure of this disease. This vegetable should be taken two times every day, in the morning as well as in the evening, for 2 months regularly. At the same time, the juice of the leaves is applied over the patches area or region of Leucoderma.

 

Turmeric

 

Turmeric combined with mustard oil. It is also proved more useful in Leucoderma. Approx 500 gm of turmeric should be pounded and soaked in 8 liter of water at during the nighttime. It should be boiled in the morning till only 1 liter of water is left, and then be strained and mixed with 500 ml of mustard oil. This mixture heated up to only the oil is left. Then strained and kept in a bottle. The mixture should be applied on the white patches areas every morning and evening for 2 to 3 months.
